Corona Dhavan Movie Review

 Corona Dhavan Movie Review

Corona Dhavan, directed by CC Nithin, revolves around a man named Vinu, who possesses an untouched liquor collection when the lockdown is declared by the Prime Minister. The film attempts to create humor from this premise, set in a village called Anathadam. Vinu becomes the village's hope for getting alcohol during the lockdown, leading to various comedic situations. The story's concept has potential for confusion-driven comedy, but the script struggles to connect multiple subplots effectively. Various characters, like excise officers, police, a bar owner, and Vinu's friends, all want access to the liquor. However, the disjointed nature of the scenes makes the movie feel like a series of unrelated comedy bits rather than a cohesive narrative.

Lukman Avaran delivers a convincing performance as Vinu, fitting well into the Thrissur setting. Sarath Sabha's portrayal of Sumesh stands out for its humorous expressions. Johny Antony appears in his eccentric style, while Irshad is comical as a police officer. Sreenath Bhasi has portrayed the situation of a regular alcoholic facing a shortage of liquor in a commendable manner. His performance captures the essence of the character and effectively conveys the struggles and frustrations that come with not having access to alcohol during the lockdown. His portrayal adds depth and relatability to the character, making it easy for the audience to empathize with his predicament. Sreenath Bhasi's skillful acting adds a layer of realism to the film's comedy, making his role a notable highlight of the movie. The movie overindulges in each subplot, losing focus on the main liquor angle. While it's not the most annoying experience, the jokes fail to leave a lasting impact. Overall, Corona Dhavan feels like a hastily assembled collection of Corona-time jokes, suitable for clips on social media but lacking as a whole film.

The music department has done an excellent job in this film, enhancing the overall experience. The soundtrack complements the comedic moments and adds to the film's entertainment value. Additionally, some scenes are beautifully blended with the music, creating a pleasant viewing experience for the audience. Despite the movie's disjointed nature, the music manages to create a sense of continuity and engagement throughout the film.

Corona Dhavan is a watchable movie with decent performance from the cast. While the film may not be a comedy masterpiece, it offers enough entertainment value to keep viewers engaged. The performances, especially Lukman Avaran as Vinu and Sarath Sabha as Sumesh, Sreenath Bhasi stand out and contribute to the film's watchability. Despite its flaws, the movie manages to deliver a decent comedic experience, making it a suitable choice for a light-hearted watch.
